Here's a bit more about her. Her love for performing arts came to fruition at a very early age. Surrounded by a vast amount of Filipino and Hawaiian culture, She was constantly encompassed by song and dance. As a respected journalist and endorsed by MXL Microphones, she interviewed some of the largest, influential pioneers in the music industry. She has covered media and press coverage for Monster, Audix Microphones, Seagull Guitars, Ultrasone Headphones, and REMO drums, to name a few. She joined forces with Sacramento’s local media group, Esm.7, in the Summer of 2014 as a host for video interviews at the Concerts in The Park, the Aftershock Festival The NAMM Show. Her work opened up the opportunity to be hand-selected by The Women’s International Music Network as their Official Red Carpet host for the She Rocks Awards in 2015 and 2016. I interviewed some of the most influential women in our music industry, including Laura B. Whitmore, Lita Ford, Lisa Loeb, Chaka Khan, Suzi Quatro, Melissa Etheridge, B52's, Mindi Abair, Orianthi, Nita Strauss, Jennifer Batten, Paula Salvatore (Capitol Studios), Lzzy Hale, Mary Luehrsen (NAMM Director of Public Affairs), Leslie Ann Jones (Skywalker Sound), Janie Hendrix, Karmin, Nik West, Lisa S. Johnson, Becky Gebhardt, and Mona Tavakoli (Rock n Roll Camp For Girls L.A.). In May 2015, She created The MANA Show, a podcast supporting the arts/film/music community produced by Noisy Snail Studios. In June 2016, she became the Media Content Manager for the Women’s International Music Network. https://www.thewimn.com/
Here in Sacramento, California, she has volunteered at Stairway To Stardom, an eight-week Summer music program for young, non-professional musicians. She was a judge in 2012, 2013, and 2015. In 2016 she co-hosted the event with legendary radio personality Charlie Thomas of 96.9 The Eagle. Her volunteer work extends to non-profit organizations like Girls Rock Sacramento, Women's March Sacramento, and the Gender Health Center, donating her time and services to mentor youth in music and those struggling with sexual identity. (We love you for that! The youth is lucky to have a vital role model like you!) She worked in public television at Access Sacramento on the politically-driven program, Soapbox! TV as a cohost in 2016. She is an active guest speaker at San Francisco State University talking with journalism students on the art of interviewing and podcasting, and I was quoted in the 2018 textbook at SFSU, The Social Media Journalist Handbook, Journalism in the 21st Century. She jumped back into podcasting headfirst with The Bad Filipino's launch, hosting a live video show on a variety of current topics with various guests from many professions like music, film, alternative medicine, and self-help coaches. Her first live episode aired on September 4, 2020, and by October 6th completed fourteen interviews! At the same time, The WiMN launched a new live video podcast series, LIVE: Front & Center, originally a written feature. As the host of that podcast, I kicked it off by interviewing the legendary Linda “Peaches” Tavani, part of the GRAMMY-winning, multi-platinum duo Peaches & Herb!
